MaryAnn McCormick
Mezzo-soprano, The Metropolitan Opera
Mezzo-soprano, The Metropolitan Opera
Hailed in the press as "charismatic", "spell-binding", and "elegant", internationally acclaimed mezzo-soprano MaryAnn McCormick has performed at theater and opera houses in Switzerland; Stuttgart, Germany; Paris, France; and throughout Italy in Rome, Milan- including La Scala, Venice, Turin, Bologna, and Parma.
Here in the U.S. with the Metropolitan Opera of New York, MaryAnn has performed roles in many operas over the last several seasons, and her performances with other opera companies have spanned the country: from the east, Boston Lyric Opera, to the west, Seattle Opera; from the north, Lyric Opera of Chicago, to the south, Atlanta Opera; with many performances in-between.
Mary Ann has been privileged to work with some of the greatest conductors of our time including Leonard Slatkin, James Levine, and Sir Neville Mariner, and with some of the finest orchestras including the New York Philharmonic, The Philadelphia Orchestra, The Montreal Symphony, The Cleveland Orchestra, The Academy of St. Martin in the Fields, The BBC Symphony, and the Boston Symphony. Her diverse repertoire has included works such as Handel's Messiah, Beethoven's Symphony no. 9, Bach's Mass in B Minor, Debussy's Le Martyre de Saint Sébastien, Verdi's Messa di Requiem, Mahler's Resurrection Symphony no. 2, and Mozart's Requiem.
